The Barbados Marine Trust embarked on a pilot project to assist
in the establishment of
a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15 tilapia farms, through the provision of the following to farmers:

Technical assistance
–
Equipment and infrastructure
–
A quality source of fingerlings
–
Quality control and certification
Greenwater tank culture is an intensive aquaculture or “fish farm”
production technology that is designed for:
•
Low water use
•
Management simplicity
•
Recirculation of nutrients to fish
•
Production of sludge for agricultural use
•
High density production
